RD400F Daytona Special

The basics: I bought this bike back in 1994 from a guy who had just had it for a year or so.
He bought from the original owner as a basket case and put it back together.
Replaced:
air filters/fuel lines
various chassis rubber bits
o-ring chain and sprockets(it is a very nice chain but is now showing some rust in spots)
swing arm bushing set
front braided steel brake line and pads
handle bar/grips/bar ends
points/condensers
Modifications:
replaced stock bar with lower rise bar - have stock bar, possibly bent
new crank/rod/cylinder/pistons
removed injection system - tank is in place for carrying pre-mix oil
removed airbox - not in my possession
spec II pipes - no stock exhaust bits in my possession
wheels - removed flashing and painted white except for outer polished area
removed rear fender - tucked taillight, not a great job - I do have the stock rear fender and taillight
no turn signals
no centerstand and mounts were cut off, presumably to fit the Spec IIs.
I had Raask rear sets somewhere for it but I took those POS off and
went back to stock.
It has the original stock paint job in pretty good shape but not perfect. A few scratches at the tank/seat junction from a joy-rider thief.
Probably caused by the screw driver he used to pop the ignition switch. Thus it has a key for the ignition and
another key(original one) for the tank and seat. This occurred with the original owner.
I have put the original rear shocks in poor condition back on. Pics show some nice Progessive series 18 shocks
that are no longer on the bike and are not included in the sale.
I've always run the Maxima 927 castor/synthetic pre-mix oil. The inside of the fuel tank looks new.
It has not been ridden much lately, well actually never ridden much as evidenced by the less
than 10K miles on the odometer.
The engine and frame numbers match and are coorect for the Daytona model. In other words, this is not a "bitsa" Daytona,
it is an original one that has been lightly modified over the years.
This bike simply looks awesome and one will experience people gawking, coming up to talk,
etc. Between the bright colors, the sharp appearance and the loud pipes(save lives don't ya know! hehe),
one cannot be very discreet on this bike.
